From the Tiananmen Square, we walked across the street to the Forbidden City. For almost 500 years the Forbidden City was the home of the Chinese Emperors from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. Built in the early 1400s, it has almost 1000 buildings. It was called the Forbidden City because the “common folk” were not allowed to enter.
It was an extremely HOT day.
