South China Sea: Day 2

The next day, we went to see the sites at Xidao (Western Island). Half way to our destination, our driver asked us if we brought our swimming suits. Unfortunately, the tour company failed to tell us we needed swimsuits. The driver took Zach and I to a local vendor who was able to sell us two swimsuits (unfortunately the biggest size they had was too small for Zachary). It’s a good thing we wore wetsuits when we went scuba diving or we would have given “Speedo” a whole new meaning. A proximately an hour after we left the hotel we arrived at the pier with an awaiting boat to take us to the island.

From Xidao we went to the “End of the Earth and Corner of the Ocean” which is the most southern point of China. I read a tourist brochure about this place it said “One of the most visited places in Sanya.” Translation: expect a whole hell of a lot of people. By the time we arrived (towards the end of the day), the place was crowded but not packed. Zach and I had a leisurely stroll while Liz relaxed.

Beijing would be a great place if it had BLUE SKIES like this.
