From Ft. Leavenworth to the Horse Races

After spending several in the Kansas City area, Zachary and I headed to Wichita to spend a couple days with Mom and Ronnie.

The day after we arrived, Zach and Mom decided they wanted to go see a movie, leaving Ronnie no choice but to go to Eureka, Kansas for the horse races. It was a great day at the races, we gambled all day on $160 and at the end of the day we lost less than $10. Significantly cheaper than Zachary's and Mom's afternoon at the theater.

Ronnie mentioned that right before a race, these horses are so "hopped up" on their special diets (to make them expend as much energy during the race as possible) that they are almost mad.



Notice the last picture missing a jockey? If the damn rider would have stayed on his horse Ronnie and I would have won our tri-fecta (probably around $200).
