Greetings, I cannot believe it. I’m only a week behind in my postings… That could only mean one thing, I’m bored.
The GWM was last Saturday (16 May). Friday afternoon, some colleagues and I took half a day off from work to drive to the race site (approximately 90 kilometers away).
We all rented rooms at a hotel near the race site (think Motel 6 without all the perks). As we were checking into our hotel, we also received a precautionary H1N1 temperature check (no, not with an oral thermometer).
The night before the race we drove the course as much as we could then we went to see the Start/Finish line. On the way, we passed a derelict amusement park… my favorite was the “bumper boats.”
