It all started innocently enough. It’s not every year that Halloween falls on a Friday.
The Halloween Party started at 6pm the last time I looked at my watch it was 2am (and I wasn’t home yet). Needless to say I had a GREAT time. Great friends, good food, and spirits… Why did my head hurt so much on Saturday? Maybe I indulged in the spirits too much.
8am Saturday morning came way too quickly, I was not in the mood to do anything; let alone go to work for the big office move. Manual labor was not in the cards. Lucky for me, we were ahead of schedule so we only worked half a day.
Saturday evening, a friend and I went to see a production of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” All day long (in-between my pounding headache and upset stomach) I was thinking to myself, “Is it possible to do Shakespeare in a foreign language? Wouldn’t the play be missing something if it were in a foreign language?” When the production started, I was relieved to see Caucasian actors. BUT my relief was short lived…apparently; this production was performed by the Lithuania OKT Theater. It was not in English, but in Lithuanian with Chinese subtitles. I’m glad I was somewhat familiar with the story line, because my Mandarin is not good enough to keep up with the dialog. It would have been a great production, if I only understood it. We left at the intermission.
Sunday, I was in the new office making sure everything was in order for Monday. Groundhog Day - eat, drink, sleep, work, repeat -
I miss Carla. :-(
