Paralympic Swimming Events:

Saturday morning, I went to the “Water Cube” to see what all the hype is all about. Additionally, this was the only Olympic venue which was persistently sold out during the Olympics. So, what was the next best thing? World Class Paralympic Competition!

I probably should have read up on the event before actually going, because I really don’t understand. There were people with no arms competing against dwarfs/midgets (please forgive me if that sounds insensitive, I’m not sure what to call the “little people”). If you look at the pictures, the blind swimmers get hit in the head with a tennis ball tied to the end of a stick. But seriously, my hat is off to all the Paralymians - they are truly world class athletes.

The facility was neat and the competition was fierce…enjoy.
